Henry Martin built DineAtlas as an offline reference application. This page explains what data is involved when you use the app — and the answer is essentially nothing leaves your device.
No Data Collection
DineAtlas does not collect, transmit, or store any personal information on external servers. The app makes no network requests. All etiquette content (countries, rules, scenarios) is bundled inside the app at install time as local JSON files.
What Stays on Your Device
The following data is stored locally using iOS UserDefaults and never leaves your device:
- Favourite countries and rules you have saved
- Personal notes you write on any country or rule card
- App preferences (theme: light / dark / system)
- Whether you have completed the onboarding flow
You can export your notes at any time from Settings → Export Notes. The exported text file stays with you — it is never sent anywhere automatically.
No Analytics or Tracking
DineAtlas contains no analytics SDK, no advertising network, no crash reporting service, and no third-party code that phones home. There are no cookies because there is no web component inside the app.
No Accounts
You do not need to create an account, sign in, or provide any contact information to use DineAtlas. The app is ready to use immediately after installation with no registration step.
Diagnostic Information
If the app crashes, Apple may collect a standard crash report through iOS system diagnostics (controlled by your iPhone settings under Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements). DineAtlas itself does not send crash data and has no access to this information.
Children
DineAtlas is a general reference app rated 16+ on the App Store due to references to alcohol. We do not knowingly collect data from any user, including minors.
Changes to This Policy
If the privacy policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new effective date. Continued use of the app after any update constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
